ABOUTTHEAUTHOR
My name Michelle means who is like God. The prophetic proclamation and assignment attached to the name have influenced my steps as I have journeyed through life. It is my heart desire to become a person who is like God: honoring His Word, embracing His character, and exhibiting His love. This life-long quest began on the day of my birth.
I was born in 1972, in the Appalachian Mountains of Pocahontas County, West Virginia. On a small, cattle farm is where I spent my childhood days surrounded by family and the outdoors. Life on the farm cultivated an active imagination. Using creativity and the real-life aspects of caring for animals alongside the mountainous wilderness, I ventured into the unknown and filled my days with limitless adventures.

Loving parents raised my younger sister, Angela, and I: Donna, a stay-at-home mom dedicating her life to being the best mother and wife; and Jimmie, a hard-working father laboring in the coal mines, in a local factory, in the timber industry, and on a farm to supply for needs of the family. Although having limited financial funds, my family did not lack in love. It is in this humble beginning I learned to appreciate the most precious gifts that life offers: the Lord, family, and relationships.

The fundamentals of Christianity, taught by my mother, helped me discover that success in life is embracing the Lord and His will. I became a born-again believer in Jesus Christ at the age of six, and I received the baptism in the Holy Spirit at the age of nine; these two events catapulted me into a life directed by the Lord.

After graduating from Berea College in Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science degree in Technology and Industrial Arts Management, I briefly traveled outside of the United States. The exposure to different peoples, cultures, and natural environments allowed me to discover the diversity of creation beyond my familiar boundaries.

Following my travels, I returned to Pocahontas County, West Virginia, where I reside. I am a caretaker of my childhood farm and maintain a small horse herd. Currently, I am a worship leader, youth teacher, and lay speaker in my local church.

I attribute the successes in my life to the ability of the Lord working through me. The good that I do reflects His presence in me.
